Aston Villa narrowly missed out on promotion last season but have made a great start to the new Championship campaign.

Villa were denied the chance to return to the Premier League after Fulham defeated them in the play-off final at Wembley. Not only did the Villains miss out on promotion, but they were also left in financial ruin, and reports suggested key players would be offloaded to balance the books. Luckily, the club was saved following a takeover.

Steve Bruce wasn’t given much in the way of funds to play with during the summer window but has made an excellent start to the season. Villa beat Hull and Wigan in their opening two fixtures but could only draw against ten-men Ipswich at the weekend. Fortunately, Villa can still sign players on loan until the end of the month.

One man they should consider is Everton outcast – Sandro Ramirez. Valued at £9m by Transfermarkt, the Spaniard has struggled to adapt to life in the Premier League after joining from Malaga last summer. The former Barcelona forward was eventually shipped out on loan to Sevilla where he failed to find the back of the net in 13 appearances.

The 23-year-old doesn’t feature in Marco Silva’s plans this season and reports suggest he will be loaned out again. Aston Villa should make an audacious attempt to bring him to Villa Park.

Sandro netted an incredible 14 goals in the 2016/17 season with Malaga and also picked up three assists during 32 appearances. When given an extended run in the first-team, the Spain U21 international was deadly in front of goal, and a move to the Championship could help reinvigorate his career.
