Steve Bruce has refused to rule out a move for a player he targeted in the summer transfer window.
Bruce confirmed that the Villans had made a bid for the centre-back and had been knocked back, however, he has failed to rule out making a move for the Scottish enforcer whilst revealing a number of other targets are on his radar.
“He is someone we have had a look at, Scott. But there are two or three other players in Scotland we have been looking at as well,” he said.
“We will see what develops.”
Aston Villa still have a need to add a centre-back to their side after failing to make the necessary additions during the summer transfer window.
McKenna is a man thought to be in demand, with the likes of Celtic having also been rumoured to have held an interest in the Aberdeen man.
However, Bruce will be looking to beat them to the signature of another promising Scottish talent, having won the race for Hibernian’s John McGinn earlier in the summer.
