Aston Villa

Steve Bruce reportedly hanging onto job already at Aston Villa, has little time to turn it around

Our Aston Villa fans here in the Transfer Tavern cannot wait for their side to get going this season as they really have not started the campaign well at all.

The men from Villa Park were fancied by many to go well this but so far they have been pretty awful and so there is work to do for Steve Bruce and his players.

Indeed, the Villa manager is coming under increasing scrutiny by some sections of the support already this season with his style of play being one of the things that is irking them.

For sure, then, the club needs to sort things quickly before they begin to spiral and – according to The Daily Star – the former Birmingham manager has just three games to get things back on track.

Surely, then, that might come as a shock to even those who want Bruce out at this early stage of the campaign and with Dr. Tony Xia seeming like a fairly patient owner when it comes to managers these days.

The next three games, then, will be watched intently by our local Villa punters in the bar.

Landlord’s Verdict

Steve Bruce is a very experienced manager at this level and, even with the poor start to the campaign, he should not be let go just yet.

He’s seen plenty of situations like this before and has the ability and knowhow to turn around whilst he’s also got a good squad available to him so let’s see some patience from Xia and the rest of the board.
