Our Aston Villa fans here in the Transfer Tavern have really been put through the mill this season and can’t wait for it to come to a close.
After looking like relegation candidates under Roberto Di Matteo things appeared to take a change for the better as Steve Bruce arrived.
The former Birmingham manager has seen things go sour in recent weeks for himself, though, and he’s had to come out and confirm his job is safe ahead of a big game against Newcastle later this evening.
Bruce revealed that he has the support of club owner Dr. Tony Xia (as quoted by The Telegraph🙂
“He has messaged me his support. I think he is desperate for me to turn it round. He understands. What we don’t understand is the run we are on.”
The Midlands side have been on a terrible streak of form with them currently not having won a game in the league since December of last year and getting precariously close to the drop-zone once again.
They have the chance to turn it round in style with a win against Newcastle tonight but with the way the Magpies are playing at the moment that is far easier said than done.
Does Bruce still have your support, Villa fans? Let us know below!
