Steve Bruce’s future at Aston Villa remains safe

The pressure at Aston Villa is thought to be mounting following another defeat in the Championship.

Steve Bruce has found himself in a position of concern ever since the club were taken over by their new owners.

The side’s form has been all over the place recently and a home defeat to Sheffield Wednesday at the weekend is not thought to have helped his cause much further.

However, according to a report by the Telegraph, it appears Bruce could be safe from facing the chop as the Villans are keen to keep some stability at Villa Park.

It is thought that there is no desire to wield the axe on the manager’s time, despite the fans having called for change after a disappointing start to the campaign has seen them left sitting in 13th.

It is believed that Christian Purslow, who is the new chief executive, wants to keep Bruce at the helm for as long as possible.

The Verdict:

Bruce’s job at Villa Park looks to be safe for now, however, he will need to turn things around quickly if he wants to remain in the role for a long period of time.

Aston Villa are a side that were expected to have challenged for promotion once again this season, with many demanding that the club finally make a return to the Premier League.

However, if results are to go by, then the Villans and Bruce could be in for a long and difficult season.
