Aston Villa fans here in the Tavern are desperate for their side to secure a win later on today, as consistency will be key when it comes to their promotion push via the play-offs.
The Villains have managed to string a number of positive performances together at a crucial part in their campaign, as they continue to prepare for the challenges of the Championship play-offs.
Although, they face a stern test tomorrow in their final regular season fixture in the Championship, as Villa will travel to The Den to face a Millwall side that look like narrowly missing out on a play-off spot.
So, Steve Bruce will need to make a number of key decisions prior to kick-off when it comes to his team selection, having witnessed a couple of poor player performances in their draw against Derby last weekend. Sadly, it looks as if Albert Adomah will be removed from the starting lineup for tomorrow’s game, as the 30-year-old’s crossing was still hit-and-miss and he didn’t have the desired impact.
With that in mind, Steve Bruce should look to drop Adomah and give Jonathan Kodjia a place in the starting lineup. Here’s who our local punters think should get the nod…
The 28-year-old looked promising in the eight Championship matches he managed to feature in prior to aggravating his ankle injury on international duty, and he has struggled to find his feet since returning to action in March.
Indeed, the forward has only managed to find the back of the net on one occasion this season which came back in September of last year, so he definitely needs a confidence boost before the start of the play-offs.
So, with a stern Millwall defence up next in the Championship and Lewis Grabban’s place in the side already secured, Villa will need Jonathan Kodjia to put his talents to the test before facing the challenges of play-off football.
