According to the Daily Mail, Aston Villa mega flop Ross McCormack’s wages blast off to £70,000 a week after winning promotion, and fans should be disgusted.

What a time to be alive. Villa are back to the Premier League, and fans likely couldn’t be happier. But no one more so than unwanted striker Ross McCormack, who will see his wages peak at £70,000 a week.

The 32-year-old has genuinely been woeful since joining the club in a £12million move from Fulham in 2016 yet he will now be rewarded – for literally no reason at all – with a big-money deal due to a clause in his contract. The word ‘sickening’ springs to mind.

McCormack has barely featured for the Villans since squirming over in a grease-filled sack all that time ago and has been sent out on loan to four different clubs during his three-year stint at Villa Park in which he has managed just 24 appearances, with his most recent coming 616 days ago in the League Cup.

The Scotland international was introduced by then manager Roberto di Matteo, who didn’t exactly produce the goods himself – leaving behind a “legacy” of utter disappointment and misery, and of course the proverbial brown stain that is Ross McCormack.

Now, we’re not exactly sure how Villa are going to clear up this mess. McCormack is contracted to the club until 30.06.2020, and we’d hazard a guess that absolutely no one is going to be stupid enough to invest in the crisp-munching sweat monster anytime soon, owed to the fact that he already looks like he’s completely given up on his career as a striker, or indeed a professional football.

Whatever the outcome though, the Villa faithful will be desperately hoping the club come to some form of satisfactory conclusion.
