Aston Villa fans here in the Tavern are praying that their side can secure promotion to the Premier League as anything less will be seen as a disaster.
Steve Bruce has managed to rally his troops for a strong finish to the current campaign as they’ve set themselves up nicely for the play-offs. But, with a two-legged tie standing between them and a place in the final, the pressure is firmly on the Villains as they’ll settle for nothing less than promotion.
Interestingly, Aston Villa have given a couple of the club’s most promising young talents a chance in the current campaign despite their bid for promotion. And, with them possibly gearing up for another season in the Championship during pre-season, a number of players in the youth ranks may be handed a chance in the first-team.
So, with Steve Bruce possibly looking to uncover the next Jack Grealish from within the youth ranks, these TWO Aston Villa players have it all to prove next season…
There’s no doubt that Rushian Hepburn-Murphy is one of the most promising young talents at Villa Park, as he has already managed to feature in the first-team ranks so far this season.
However, he still has a long way to go before he manages to establish himself as a regular, and he may not receive many minutes in their promotion push from here on in.
But, having shown that he can carry his weight in the Championship after a few flashy performances in the current campaign, a strong pre-season may just push him up the pecking order.
The teen sensation is leading the next generation at Aston Villa with an established performance never too far away in the under-23 side.
Interestingly, the talented 20-year-old made his first-team debut against Colchester United in August and has gone on to make a number of appearances since then.
But, he still has it all to prove over the course of the summer as the Villains could be gearing up for Premier League football, so a number of impressive displays in pre-season could see him become a first-team regular.Like what the TT have on offer? Sign up for more notifications!
