Aston Villa: Fans slam Tim Sherwood after he reveals who he would play in midfield for England

Several football fans have been left baffled after former Aston Villa manager Tim Sherwood suggested that Jack Grealish should be starting for England.
Speaking on the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast on talkSPORT, the 50-year-old claimed that the Three Lions had “missed the boat” on the midfielder who he believes is “special.”
Should Jack Grealish be in the England squad?
Yes

No

Sherwood went on to say that in his opinion, Grealish should be one of the three midfielders in the starting 11 for England at the moment, alongside Tottenham’s Harry Winks and Chelsea’s Mason Mount.
Whilst Grealish has made a strong start to life in the Premier League, scoring two goals and racking up three assists (Transfermarkt), he wasn’t called up by Gareth Southgate for their recent Euro 2020 qualifiers against Montenegro and Kosovo (@England).
Plenty of football fans have reacted to Sherwood’s comments, with a lot of them disagreeing with him and some pointing towards the fact that they believe James Maddison is a better player than Grealish.
Here is what some football fans have said in response to Sherwood’s Grealish comments…
That’s why he’s without a club right now

He doesn’t even start Maddison so what’s the point in selecting Grealish who isn’t as good as Maddison 🤔🤔

This is why Sherwood is currently unemployed. Nothing against Grealish but he needs to be more consistent over a season.

The only person who agrees with Tim Sherwood is Tim Sherwood. Complete fraud of a manager.

Because Maddison doesn’t play football anymore

Tim nice but dim at it again 🤦♂️, that is a dreadful midfield that would get bullied and leave the defence well exposed

Thank god he’s not in football anymore

Oh dear that midfield 3 would get ripped apart against any decent team

Beyond ridiculous. Identifying someone who has the attributes to shield the backline should be at the forefront of Southgate’s thoughts for the foreseeable.
He needs to address this issue as fast as possible.— Adam Wehden (@wehden_adam) November 18, 2019
