Aston Villa could lose one of their players this winter as he has admitted that he could look to leave the club permanently.
The defender is currently on loan with the Tigers after agreeing to a deal on deadline day and the centre-back has stated that the two parties have held brief talks about a permanent deal taking place between the two sides.
“There was little bits and pieces but it was so late in the day that we never got down the round with that,” he told the Hull Daily Mail.
“It wasn’t until the day before the window shut that I knew I was coming here. Those talks can happen down the line.”
The 30-year-old also revealed that if a permanent deal was to be struck, he would have no problem with joining up with the KCOM Stadium outfit.
“If this move leads to me being here for many season then we’re all for it but we’ll address that when it needs to be addressed,” he added.
It was surprising to see Elphick head out on loan considering the lack of options Steve Bruce currently has at centre-back.
Having started the Championship season in the starting line-up, it would have been though that he could have played a key role for the Villans during the campaign.
However, Bruce clearly deems Elphick surplus to requirements at Villa Park and could see him offloaded permanently in January.
