Aston Villa are the form team in the Championship at this moment in time having won their last 10 games in the Championship, which is a club record. Meanwhile, Leeds are on a two-game losing streak with their automatic promotion hopes vanishing, so changes are needed immediately.
Interestingly, the Whites will welcome the Villans to Elland Road in their next Championship fixture. Aston Villa have already secured a play-off place but they’ll be desperate to move up the table to give themselves the best opportunity of securing a good tie, so Leeds will be up against it today.
Jack Grealish and Tyler Roberts are two players who both pull the strings for their respective clubs, so let’s compare the two players…
Jack Grealish has ignited Aston Villa’s promotion push since returning from injury, taking his tally to five goals and five assists in the Championship. The attacking midfielder looks like he belongs in the Premier League, so the Midlands club’s only chance of keeping him would be to secure promotion.
He’s oozed class in the final third with his incredible dribbling ability and eye for a pass, as well as getting into promising positions and finding the back of the net. He really is a defender’s nightmare.
TT GRADE: A
Tyler Roberts, who was signed for £2.57 million, has played a big part in Leeds United’s promotion push this season but he’s just not been able to have a positive impact on the field recently, which certainly hasn’t helped their cause.
He’s dangerous in the final third and quite often picks out a key pass to one of his teammates, but his finishing ability isn’t quite there as he’s squandered a number of opportunities.
TT GRADE: B+
It’s safe to say that Jack Grealish wins the battle of the No.10’s as he’s been nothing short of sensational since returning from injury at Villa Park. He’s almost impossible to tackle and he’s been the source of all things brilliant for the Midlands club in the final third, with a big part to play from here on in.
