TT Battle: Tammy Abraham vs Dwight Gayle

Aston Villa currently find themselves working towards securing a play-off spot, while West Bromwich Albion are fighting for an automatic promotion place.

The Villains will need to ensure consistency if they are to stand any chance of reaching the play-offs this season. Meanwhile, the Baggies are in with a great chance of securing automatic promotion straight back to the Premier League, but things won’t be easy as there’re currently a number of teams above them.

Interestingly, Aston Villa will welcome West Bromwich Albion to Villa Park later on today, so we took a look at Tammy Abraham and Dwight Gayle’s influence at their respective clubs.

With that in mind, let’s compare these two transfers…

Tammy Abraham has been one of the standout performers in the Championship this season as he continues to impress at Villa Park, with 20 goals to his name in 28 appearances.

Indeed, the Villains would be nowhere without the Englishman’s efforts as he’s produced valuable contributions throughout, and he is set to play a monumental part from here on in until the end of the season.

Dwight Gayle has slowly developed into a hero at the Hawthorns as he’s put in a number of quality performances this season, with 16 goals and seven assists to his name in the Championship.

It’s safe to say that the forward hasn’t always been able to ensure consistency in front of goal, but he will definitely play one of the biggest parts in the Baggies’ automatic promotion pursuit.

When comparing these two, it’s safe to say that Tammy Abraham is slightly edging things at this moment in time as he’s been more clinical in front of goal, as well as offering plenty of support and linking up play.

Dwight Gayle has still been a big coup for Darren Moore and he’ll be forever grateful for his efforts, but Aston Villa will be the ones laughing as Abraham is currently a level above the on loan Newcastle man, having ensured consistency right the way throughout this season at just 21 years of age.

It’s safe to say that Aston Villa got the better summer deal.
