Aston Villa fans will still have a big smile on their face after getting the better of Birmingham City in the Second City derby yesterday, as Jack Grealish stole the show at St Andrew’s.
One thing that has worried many supporters in the current campaign has been injuries as a number of absences have already had a negative affect on their play-off pursuit.
What’s the news?
Axel Tuanzebe suffered a foot injury prior to Christmas which has kept him out up until this point, while Henri Lansbury sustained a hamstring injury towards the start of December.
But, Dean Smith recently provided an update on the pair recently (as per Birmingham Live).
“Henri Lansbury and Axel Tuanzebe will return to the grass tomorrow.
“They won’t be ready for Wednesday or Saturday but I expect them to be available for the Blackburn game.”
Axel Tuanzebe was a key performer in Dean Smith’s side during the first half of the season as he managed to ensure consistency at the back and helped point them in the right direction. His pace and power at the back could play a big part from here on in until the end of the season alongside the likes of Tyrone Mings and Kourtney Hause.
On the other hand, Henri Lansbury has been plagued with injuries during his time at Villa Park but he did display a couple of moments of brilliance prior to his injury, so he could be a surprise weapon for Smith once he returns.
So, both Lansbury and Tuanzebe’s possible return for the Blackburn game will come as a big boost, as Villa are going to need plenty of firepower if they are to secure a play-off spot.
Aston Villa fans, can Tuanzebe and Lansbury help transform your season?
