Several weeks ago, the Peruvian left-sided star Juan Manuel Vargas was heavily linked to Aston Villa as a potential alternative to the Charles N’Zogbia deal that has since come to fruition. The rumour had Villa fans incredibly excited but it was deemed as one of those that was never to be.
Today, the rumours of an €8m bid have resurfaced that, if true would be just as graciously accepted by every Villa fan on the planet, but are probably (again) completely false.
With Alex McLeish admitting Aston Villa have some wage issues to tackle and adopting a sell to buy policy, an €8m bid for an international captain and Serie A star looks even more unlikely than when it was first touted.
Newspapers and media sites are entitled to post what they want, but it’s downright disappointing to see these sorts of unrealistic and false links to resurface time after time!
