Aston Villa fans were celebrating a win against Swansea just eight days ago on Boxing Day in the Championship, however, they’re set to face the Swans again on Saturday in the FA Cup, and they’ll be hoping to see their new shot-stopper Lovre Kalinic when they host Graham Potters’ side.

The Croatian goalkeeper was announced as the next Villa goalkeeper just before the January transfer window opened, signing officially from KAA Gent on January 1st. The signing came at the right time too as the Villains’ number one from the first half of the season, Orjan Nyland, has suffered an injury that gave Dean Smith a major headache ahead of his New Year’s day clash with QPR.
However, Kalinic is now available and the supporters are excited to see how the 16-cap international, who was on the bench during the World Cup final last summer, will get on under Smith at Villa Park. If he can match Nyland’s heroics from Aston Villa’s last meeting with Swansea then it will be the perfect start, as Nyland produced an injury-time penalty save to give the Villains a 1-0 win.

The Villains will be looking forward to their clash with Swansea and will be desperate for Kalinic to make a good first impression.
