Villa fans pay tribute to Agbonlahor on the striker’s birthday

Yesterday saw ex-Aston Villa striker Gabby Agbonlahor turn 32 and a lot of fans took to Twitter to wish the striker a happy birthday. Whilst the end of his Villa career wasn’t quite what Agbonlahor would have wanted to be, there are plenty of fond memories that the fans hold from his time at the club.

In 391 games for Aston Villa, the striker bagged himself 86 goals and 57 assists and he’s a man who will always be synonymous with Villa Park. In summer 2005 the striker came through the Villains academy and stayed with the club until he was released over the summer. The only other clubs he played for were Sheffield Wednesday and Watford on loans early in his career, but other than that he’s Villa through and through.

Agbonlahor had a spell where he was regarded as one of the Premier League’s top strikers and in November 2008 he made his England debut, going on to win three England caps in his career. It looks highly likely that Agbonlahor’s career is over, he’s yet to find a club since leaving Villa and it’s hard to see anyone taking a punt on the 32-year-old, but for Villa fans, that doesn’t make him any less of a legend.
