According to the Mail Online, four Premier League clubs are interested in signing Aston Villa striker Tammy Abraham on loan until the end of the season.

The 21-year-old is currently on loan at Villa Park from Chelsea, but is impressing in the Championship and could therefore make a return back to the Premier League.

The England international has 16 goals for The Villans so far this season. He is not only his club's top scorer by a considerable distance, but is the league's top scorer as well. His goals have been crucial to the club, shown by his brace yesterday against QPR which rescued a point for Dean Smith's men.

Smith will be acutely aware that any hopes that Villa have of returning to the top division of English football rest on Abraham's shoulders this season. No one else in the team seems to be in goalscoring form, shown by the fact that James Chester is the club's fourth top scorer this season. Villa have been hugely reliant on Abraham, and his departure could be catastrophic to any promotion challenge.

What is worse is that Villa are not really in a financial position to sign new players this month, and would therefore need to look at another loan deal, where it may be hard to unearth another signing like Abraham. Ultimately, this may be in Chelsea's hands rather than Villa's or Abraham's which must be a gruelling thought to all those involved with the club. But Villa must do all they can to keep hold of Abraham, knowing their season depends on it.
