Aston Villa have certainly had a mixed start to the season, as they did too last terms and that leaves fans wondering whether they have the desire to try and get promoted yet again.
Having unforgettably lost in the play-off final last season, performances on the pitch have given fans mixed emotions but they want to believe that with the quality all around the team, they have enough to launch another promotion bid.
A big problem so far this season has been defensively and that needs to be rectified in January, should Vila be serious about bidding for a place back in the top flight. So, what better to do than steal an out-of-favour Premier League player like Tyrone Mings and put him in the claret and blue of Aston Villa.
Mings, (who is valued at £3.6 million on Transfermarkt) was once an important player for Bournemouth but after long-term injuries and new signings overtaking him in the team, he now seems surplus to requirements which Aston Villa can try to take advantage of.
The 25-year-old is a Premier League football now but once upon a time, he played for Ipswich in the Championship so that experience will be handy, considering how different the leagues seem to be.
Mings can play as a centre-back or as a left-back but either way at this stage of his career, it’s all about regular game-time seeing as last season was scuppered by injury.
Aston Villa are light in defence but even on a loan, Mings could help them escape that feeling of not knowing who to play as they would have a great option in an Englishman who just wants to start playing again. Alongside James Chester, the pair could form something great.
