Aston Villa have had a positive start to the season and one that fills fans with optimism that despite heartbreak last season, this could be the year they return to the top flight.
After recruiting a great deal of late signings, the Villans look in a good place to challenge for promotion once again.
Steve Bruce has gone from a manager fighting for his job, to a man many entrust to get Villa back to the big time, their ultimate aim this season.
With a number of players in the Villa team who are capable of winning a game, the January transfer window should be an opportunity to bring in some talented defenders to stop the flurry of goals shooting past Orjan Nyland and that player should be Arsenal’s Konstantinos Mavropanos.
Mavropanos, (who is valued at £2.7 million on Transfermarkt) is a great talent for Arsenal and one that showed his quality late on in the season last time out. He made three appearances for the first-team, including a dominant display against Manchester United on debut.
Since then though, Mavropanos is yet to play a single minute under Unai Emery and that could lead to talk of him moving away to prove his quality elsewhere. On a loan deal, a move to Aston Villa could be extremely beneficial for the 20-year-old, who is a tough, physical defender that would suit the Championship most definitely.
Aston Villa are a little light at the back with few options to consider meaning it would be a big and much-needed welcome for Mavropanos should he move to Villa Park in January.
Should Villa pursue Mavropanos… Let us know!
