Aston Villa fans here in the Tavern will be desperate for their side to taste promotion next season after failing to make the most of a promising position in the Championship play-offs.
Indeed, Villa supporters will be gutted that their side didn’t manage to secure promotion this season as they lost 1-0 to Fulham in the Championship play-off final. Although, Steve Bruce will now be looking to pick his players up off the ground ahead of a crucial campaign, with many of our local residents feeling confident that their side can earn promotion next season.
Of course, with John Terry not returning to Villa Park and Jack Grealish attracting the attention of Premier League clubs, Bruce will definitely need to bring in a number of players this summer.
So, Tony Xia must tell Bruce to keep a close eye on the World Cup later on this month, as the Englishman may be able to scout out a couple of players that could play a huge part in the club’s promotion push next season.
With that in mind, Xia should be telling Bruce to scout these TWO World Cup stars…
The Liverpool central midfielder spent the second half of the season on loan at Cardiff City, where he managed to help them secure promotion to the Premier League by producing one goal.
And, the 22-year-old was recently named in Serbia’s 23-man squad for the World Cup later on this month, so he will be looking to take his domestic form into the global competition.
Encouragingly, the midfielder has already shown that he can have a positive impact on proceedings in the Championship, so Bruce shouldn’t hesitate to bring him to Villa Park this summer if he is impressed by what he sees in the World Cup.
Kamil Grosicki joined Championship side Hull City back in January of 2017 and he hasn’t looked back since, bagging himself nine goals and six assists in the campaign just gone as a well-rounded winger.
Of course, with Jack Grealish being linked with a move away this summer, perhaps Villa should look to move for the 29-year-old, as he has already shown that he can create and score goals in the Championship.
And, the experienced winger was recently named in Poland’s 23-man squad for the World Cup later on this month, as he will be looking to add to the 50 international caps he already has under his belt.
