Aston Villa’s 15-goal hero must be the man Wolves take from their fallen Midlands rivals

Wolverhampton Wanderers fans in the Transfer Tavern are buzzing with the club’s early business in the transfer window and are eager to see who will be arriving at Molineux next.

Following a superb season on loan, Wolves secured the permanent signing of Atletico Madrid forward Diogo Jota. The club also acquired permanent transfers for both Benik Afobe and Willy Boly from Stoke and Porto respectively. Nuno Espirito Santo will continue to strengthen his squad in order to ensure Premier League survival next year.

The Midlands club are surely likely to be in the market for another forward with Leo Bonatini not expected to be signed permanently. After failing to join Wolves in the Premier League, Aston Villa are a mess as a result of financial fair play regulations. The Villains must offload a lot of money’s worth of players to balance the books at Villa Park, which Wolves should take advantage of.

One man they could bring to Molineux is winger – Albert Adomah. The 30-year-old was a crucial part of the Villa side which reached the playoff final, scoring 15 goals in the Championship from the right wing. The Ghanian international also notched five assists, highlighting his threat to defenders. Valued at £4.5m by Transfermarkt, he is considered as one of Villa’s most saleable players.

Adomah seems content to stay at Villa Park for now but may be left with no choice if Steve Bruce is forced into a sale. Wolves would be wise to take advantage of their situation and bring him to Molineux.
