Atletico Madrid plan for return of Chelsea’s star player

Costa 4Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern haven’t endured a great season so far and they’ve hidden themselves in the corner of the bar following the latest transfer speculation.

Fichajes state Atletico Madrid are keen to bring Diego Costa back to Spanish football, following his £32m exit in the summer of 2014 after Diego Simeone had led the side to La Liga success- thwarting the dominance of Barcelona and Real Madrid in Spanish football.

Costa shone in his first season in the Premier League, helping to lead Chelsea to the title, but he’s struggled this term amid a Blues side that’s languishing at the wrong end of the league standings.

With Atletico, unlike Chelsea, being able to offer Champions League football next term, Costa may accept a move- and a transfer must occur this month, as Atletico’s recent transfer ban prevents them from making any signings in the summer.

Chelsea are likely to be reluctant to let Costa leave though as they require their stars to be on-point if they are to fight back from their current precarious spot- and it’s already likely that Loic Remy will leave Stamford Bridge.

Our landlord believes that with no big-names available on the transfer market, any incoming signings will only play second-fiddle to Costa and that Chelsea desperately need the Spaniard for the second-half of their season.

Chelsea fans, would you sell Costa this month? Let us know in the comments below!
