The Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern are seriously concerned about the future of their side…
After a disappointing defeat at Chelsea on Saturday, morale amongst the Gunners in the Tavern is at an all time low. 12 points adrift in the Premier League title race, things are not looking good for the rest of the season at the Emirates – and it would appear as though that could have a long-term detrimental effect on Arsenal, too.
According to goal.com, sources close to Sanchez have revealed that the Chilean is looking to wait until the end of the season to decide his future – with his desire to renew his contract with Arsenal seemingly resting upon how the club finish in the Premier League.
Whilst goal.com don’t go into any more detail, it would be safe to assume that Sanchez is, at the very least, referring to Champions League football – with a player of his quality undoubtedly demanding that he plays within Europe’s most elite competition.
This has left serious cause for concern amongst the Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern, with many fearing that their position in the top 4 of the Premier League could come under serious threat. With Chelsea looking a shoe-in for the title, the likes of Man City, Liverpool, Tottenham and Man Utd are all looking to compete with Arsenal for the top 4 – and so a finish within those spots will not be easy to come by.
Arsenal have been on a mixed run of form lately, with the loss at Chelsea the latest in a line of poor performances. Our landlord thinks that if the Gunners are to hold on to Sanchez and stay in the Champions League – performances need to turn around fast.
