Tottenham Hotspur fans in the Transfer Tavern will be expecting the side to strengthen in the summer as they prepare for life at their new stadium.
Spurs will head to the new White Hart Lane for the beginning of the next season and the locals in the bar will be hoping it is a year in where they can continue their challenge to be successful and finally lift a trophy.
For that to happen, a number of the punters will feel Mauricio Pochettino’s side will need to add a number of stars to his line-up and the Argentine may have been handed a boost with one possible target.
The Sun are reporting that Xherdan Shaqiri is ready to quit Stoke City for Champions League football, putting Spurs in the driving seat.
The Switzerland international would be available on a cut-price following the Potters relegation from the Premier League, allowing him to leave for £12million.
Tottenham will be keen to add to their squad this summer as they look to compete across all competitions and Shaqiri could be a man to do a job.
The 25-year-old has already played at the top level in his career, having featured for Inter Milan and Bayern Munich and would be considered a steal for £12M. It would remain to be seen if Pochettino would use him as a starter, however, with the likes of Moussa Sissoko continuously getting a chance, then many of the locals cannot see why Shaqiri would not.
