Social media is a wonderful thing in the transfer market. Serge Aurier is the latest to use it to give fans hope as he took to Instagram last night, posting a picture of himself in action for Spurs with the caption “stay calm the target is not far” followed by an eagle emoji. The Lillywhites are now believing that Wilfried Zaha is destined to be a Tottenham player.

This cryptic message from Aurier comes just days after his Ivory Coast teammate, Wilfried Zaha posted a message of his own on Instagram, claiming that today is the day that everything changes for him. Tottenham have been very quiet in the market since the window opened but now with a couple of messages from international teammates on Instagram, the Spurs supporters are starting to believe hey could sign Crystal Palace’s danger man.
Zaha is a long-term Tottenham target and his versatility would make him a superb addition to the club. His ability to be deployed on both wings, as a number ten or as a striker make him an interesting option for Mauricio Pochettino. At the age of 25, Zaha has plenty of time to grow into one of the best in the Premier League, although he’s already held in very regard by a lot of fans for his dynamic performances for The Eagles.

He has no reason to add the “”, Ivory Coast are “The Elephants”. He is proper teasing here, most probably unintentionally though…

I didn’t look into this too much…now that Wilf has liked it with the eagle and a ‘target isn’t far’….I am definitely now looking into it too much!

It’s a long shot but if the Aurier post bares weight then the fans will be buzzing with their latest signing in Zaha when he’s announced.
