Finding somewhere to have a pre match pint in comfort, safety and perhaps some decent banter can often be somewhere between difficult and a naffin’ minefield. We here at the Tavern take the noble art of having a pint very seriously and consequently are generating a file of favoured watering holes.

Here’s our suggestions for this week’s game…
Everton fans brave the big crazy maze that is the nation’s capital as they head to Fulham. London obviously has a bazillion venues and so you may well have your own spot you refresh yourself at that isn’t too near Enemy Territory.
Parson’s Green isn’t toooo far away from the ground and is host to The White Horse. Known locally as The Sloaney Pony. This is an old haunt of yours truly and is a lovely big roomy boozer with an impressive array of lagers, ales and weather permitting a fantastic outside space.
Unlike many London juicers the staff know what they are doing and the vibe is of a real pub which is what it is and not just a place to simply squirt booze into a plastic pot for passing idiots.
I would describe the punters as a generally a good mix of civilized folk with a modest smattering of upmarket birds in Ralph Lauren on a good day. The area dictates that the food and drink isn’t particularly cheap, but you’re not in the doorway of a Greggs with a can of Fosters here, so get over it.
