Crystal Palace put in a very convincing performance against relegation contenders Fulham last time out as they secured all three points at Selhurst Park.
The Eagles will be focused on ensuring consistency from here on in as they’ve struggled to do so for large parts of the current campaign. And, things haven’t exactly been perfect recently, despite picking up four points in two games, as a couple of the club’s first-team members have failed to impress.
However, Crystal Palace will welcome West Ham United to Selhurst Park later on today in their next Premier League fixture. The Hammers managed to secure an impressive point against Liverpool last time out, so they’ll feel confident that they can get the better of the Eagles in the London derby.
Nevertheless, this Crystal Palace DUO have to put an end to their troubles at Selhurst Park today…
PATRICK VAN AANHOLT
Patrick van Aanholt is usually one of the standout performers for Crystal Palace but his performances in recent times have been less than acceptable. Indeed, the Dutchman made a number of errors against Southampton and he was hesitant and didn’t offer much against the Cottagers last time out.
It’s safe to say that the left-back needs to put an end to his recent woes as he’s letting himself and the team down, with positive results being hard to secure if he isn’t at his best.
Jordan Ayew hasn’t exactly done too much wrong in recent times but he just hasn’t been able to offer much at all in an attacking sense, having failed to score in his last four Premier League matches, despite starting every game.
The only thing he really offers is hard work at the pinnacle of the attack, which hasn’t really benefited the Eagles massively as they’ve lacked a cutting edge in front of goal at times.
So, the forward needs to put an end to his recent goalscoring woes as he could soon see himself on the substitutes’ bench with January signing Michy Batshuayi waiting in the wings.
