The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are desperate for the season to get underway…
It has been a tough summer for the Blues, with mixed success in the transfer market, but fans are still optimistic ahead of the new campaign.
Indeed, Antonio Conte proved last season that anything is possible when the Italian is at the helm, and so a title challenge is likely to be forthcoming once again at Stamford Bridge.
Unfortunately, though, Conte has delivered some bad news on the eve of Chelsea’s return to action – with the manager confirming, via Chelsea’s official Twitter page, that Pedro is set to miss the Blues’ game against Burnley with an ankle injury.

Pedro can’t seem to catch a break at the moment, with two injuries now picked up in two games against Arsenal. He is still recovering from a facial injury sustained during a pre-season game against the Gunners – with the Spaniard able to play last Sunday in the Community Shield thanks to the protection offered by a face mask.
Conte will now have a big decision to make as he looks to pick the strongest possible side to face Burnley.
Pedro was in sensational form for Chelsea last season, so this is a massive blow for the Blues.
It must be noted that Eden Hazard is also set to miss the game, meaning that Chelsea only have one fully fit, experienced winger available in Willian. Could this mean a start for young Charly Musonda, or will Conte instead opt to start with both Michy Batshuayi and Alvaro Morata?
There are a host of options for the Italian, and he must pick wisely.
