The Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern are expecting another fine performance from Danny Welbeck, but that may be a problem…
According to the Mirror, Welbeck has been suffering from an injury for much of the recent campaign, hence why he has been sparingly used by Arsene Wenger, and it is said that it could affect his game time for the rest of the season. The Mirror notes that Wenger is likely to continue to use him sparingly going forward in an effort to not worsen the issue.
This has come as bad news for the Arsenal fans in the pub, with many touting Welbeck as a player that could really turn Arsenal’s fortunes around this season. He did, of course, score against Man Utd earlier this week, highlighting his prominence. In truth, it was a fine performance from the Englishman, and it has left those in the pub wanting more.
Our landlord thinks that given the significance of Arsenal’s upcoming fixtures, Wenger needs to be very careful with Welbeck – as he could hold the key. He was a talismanic figure at the weekend, and he could continue to be that important going forward.
Welbeck has made 6 Premier League starts this season, scoring twice.
