It’s another weekend and another big game for the Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern…
Having games every three days is not a feat that Chelsea had to manoeuvre through last year, given their non-entry in the Champions League, but the fixtures are only going to become more difficult and frequent as the season progresses.
No sooner had Chelsea beaten Qarabag on Tuesday night, though, had thoughts turned to their next game, a tough clash against Arsenal in the Premier League.
The Blues and the Gunners have built quite the rivalry in recent years, and the competition has already ended in Arsenal’s favour once this season. Having beaten Chelsea to the Community Shield, revenge will be on the mind of Antonio Conte.
Unfortunately, though, the Italian has delivered some bad news ahead of the game – revealing that Danny Drinkwater is still not available having already missed the mid-week game against Qarabag.

Of course, Drinkwater has yet to play for Chelsea since moving on deadline day – with injuries plaguing his season so far.
Fortunately, with N’Golo Kante, Tiemoue Bakayoko and Cesc Fabregas available, it’s unlikely that he would have started, though Conte could have utilised his defensive qualities were the Blues in need of extra defensive solidity towards the end of the game.
The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are desperate to see him play.
Drinkwater was an impressive signing from Chelsea, but the fact that he is a depth option makes his unavailability sting a little less.
Still, he would have been a decent option for Conte to call upon, and so that makes the Italian’s squad selection a little more difficult.
Chelsea are likely to field a side that bulks out the midfield, and so the trio of N’Golo Kante, Cesc Fabregas and Tiemoue Bakayoko could feature. In that instance, that leaves very few midfield options on the bench for Conte. That’s a problem he’ll have to navigate around.
