The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are feeling pretty confident ahead of their clash with Man Utd next weekend…
The Blues are on fire in the Premier League, with Conte’s side clear favourites ahead of the game against the Red Devils.
However, in the lead-up to the game, Chelsea have suffered a blow – in the form of a return of a vital Man Utd star. As per Ben Dinnery on Twitter, David De Gea – who missed Man Utd’s last game – is set to return to action next week. As a result, Chelsea will likely line up against the impressive goalkeeper when they meet next weekend.
Indeed, when it was confirmed that De Gea was missing Man Utd’s game against Sunderland, there was a loud cheer amongst the Blues in the Transfer Tavern, but that noise has now quietened down. Of course, there is no doubting that this is a big blow for Conte’s side, with De Gea arguably one of Man Utd’s influential players. If the Red Devils are to have any chance of winning, De Gea will likely be at the forefront of that performance.

Whilst this a blow for Chelsea, it is undoubtedly a huge boost for Man Utd. The Red Devils have struggled for much of the campaign, and whilst they won without De Gea over the weekend, Jose Mourinho’s side is undoubtedly better when the Spaniard is involved.
The game has a lot riding on it for both teams. A victory could put Man Utd right back in contention for a top four finish, whilst the clash also represents one of Chelsea’s last major tests with regards to big games against the Premier League’s top six. If the Blues can somehow get past De Gea and get another three points – Tottenham may seriously struggle to catch them.
Our landlord is expecting a full house in the Transfer Tavern.
