Bad news for Chelsea as move for key player is reportedly requested by Euro boss

The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern saw a silver lining when the severity of Eden Hazard’s recent injury was made official

The Belgian winger has been out of action for a while now, and looks likely to miss the start of the Premier League season. However, his unavailability led many supporters to believe that the Belgian would be staying put – with clubs unlikely to be willing to spend big on a player that was coming off of the back of a long-term injury layoff.

However, it doesn’t appear as though Chelsea are going to get off so easily, with Diario Gol reporting that Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has personally requested that his superiors make a move for Eden Hazard, with the French boss reportedly desperate to land the Belgian wing wizard.

A move is certainly not on the cards quite yet, but Zidane is clearly keen on a move, and given the financial spending power of Los Blancos – particularly given Chelsea’s recent acquisition of Alvaro Morata – they certainly have the cash to splash on a player of Hazard’s quality.

His departure would come as a huge blow for the Blues, as the Antonio Conte-led side has been built around Hazard’s qualities going forward, but the Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are still hopeful that Hazard will stay.

After all, the Belgian is a key player for the Blues, and will be a regular next season as Conte leads his side back into the Champions League.
