The Leicester City fans who are gathered at the bar in The Transfer Tavern are discussing reports that the club look likely to miss out on a transfer target for the summer.
La Repubblica via Gazzetta World is reporting that the Premier League champions have fallen down the pecking order as potential suitors for Pescara front man Gianluca Lapadula.
It appears that the striker who has hit 24 goals this season is set to move to Serie A club Lazio this summer, after they jumped ahead of Juventus, Napoli and Genoa as well as Leicester in the race for his signature.
Leicester will be disappointed to miss out on Lapadula as they viewed him as a perfect foil for this season’s leading scorer Jamie Vardy.
Their attention will now turn to other targets as they look to reinforce their squad ahead of their debut Champions League season.
The Leicester fans in The Tavern are not overly concerned at missing out on Lapadula and are sure that the club have an equally good alternative in mind.
