Bad news for Liverpool as Spanish giants plan huge raid – Report

Liverpool fans here in the Tavern are confident that their side can go all the way in this year’s Champions League competition, having asserted their dominance throughout.

The Reds will be desperate to forget about Saturday’s 2-2 draw with relegation contenders West Bromwich Albion, as Liverpool let a two goal lead slip due to some less than convincing defending. And, many of our local residents are now fearing the summer transfer window, as according to Don Balon, Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone wants the club to sign Emre Can and Sadio Mane in the summer.

Sadio Mane and Emre Can have both played their part in Liverpool’s success this season as they find themselves in the Champions League semi-final, and remain on course for a top-four spot. But, it’s understood that Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone wants to sign the pair in the summer, as Liverpool could head into next season looking worse for wear.

Interestingly, the signing of Emre Can may be feasible as his contract runs out at the end of the season, with a number of clubs expected to battle it out for the German’s signature in the summer.

However, Madrid believe that they may have to pay €80 million euros to bring Mane to the club in the summer if Mohamed Salah leaves Liverpool, which is bad news for many of our local Liverpudlians as this falls within the budget that the Spanish club have planned for next season.

Landlord’s Verdict:

This is extremely bad news for Liverpool as Atletico Madrid have their sights set on Sadio Mane and Emre Can, with the Reds possibly seeing a couple of their star men depart in the summer. Although, Jurgen Klopp should look to tie Sadio Mane down to a long-term contract, as the Senegalese international has been sensational so far this season.
