Bad news keeps coming for 25-year-old Man Utd ace

The Man Utd fans in the Transfer Tavern are still coming to terms with Phil Jones’ latest injury blow…

Having struggled with injury for much of his career, the defender appeared to have gotten past the worst of his issues this season – but his withdrawal from the England squad yesterday certainly gave the Man Utd fans in the pub real cause for concern.

Indeed, 24 hours later, it seems as though their worst fears have been realised – with the Daily Mail reporting that there is a genuine fear that Jones could miss several weeks of action. They have noted that the suspected injury that Jones has received is a broken toe. So not only is Jones missing out on England duty, but he could also miss out on some Man Utd games too.

This will come as a big blow for Jose Mourinho, especially when you consider that his squad is already depleted.

Of course, the problem has come at a pretty bad time for Man Utd, with an important few weeks ahead. The Premier League is finally reaching its climax – and Mourinho will want to ensure that his squad is at full strength. Given that the Red Devils have a number of Premier League, and hopefully Europa League, games coming – the Portuguese manager will surely be hoping for the best.

The Man Utd fans in the Transfer are genuinely concerned, with many fearing that Man Utd don’t have enough depth to cope with another injury.

Man Utd’s next game is on April 1st, and if a broken toe is his diagnosis, he could certainly miss several of Man Utd’s 9 games in April.
