Baggies to open contract talks with want away striker

BerahinoThe Daily Mail has gotten West Brom fans talking claiming their club are preparing to offer England striker Saido Berahino a new contract in an attempt to stop the striker refusing the play.

Berahino tweeted that he would never play for West Brom again whilst the club was owned by Jeremy Peace after they rejected all advances by Tottenham Hotspur to try and secure his signature. He has since been sent on ‘compassionate leave’ for the coming weeks.

West Brom are hoping that they can coax the tricky forward to reconsider his threat and convince him to sign a new contract that would see his wages increase by more than double.

The contract is likely to see him have a £25m release clause inserted – the fee owner Jeremy Peace is reported to have been holding out for in the summer.

The forward has divided opinion amongst Baggies fans here in the Transfer Tavern, with their being a few spilled pints over his behaviour in recent days. One side saying he is too good to have left out of the team, whilst others think he should rot in the reserves given his disrespectful antics.

West Brom fans. Do you want to see Berahino back playing for your team? Let us know what you think below.
