Bang in form: Landing speedy World Cup star would improve Liverpool’s attack – opinion

The Liverpool attack was the strongest facet of their team last season, with the introduction of Mohamed Salah taking the Reds to the next level.

The impact that another addition can have, then, could be huge, and our landlord thinks that Juventus’ Juan Cuadrado could be the perfect addition.

The Columbian has had a fantastic few years over in Italy with Juventus. Able to play across the attack, he delivers brilliant dribbling, pace and energy, and he’s done so for the last few years without fail. Last season he picked up a stellar return of 4 goals and 8 assists, and he impressed with his general play too.

He’s fairly unique in the context of Liverpool in that he’s a genuine wideman. Whilst the likes of Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane like to drift inwards, Cuadrado is best suited as a player to drive down the wings and cross into the box. At Anfield, then, he’d be able to add some much-needed variety.

Not to mention, generally speaking he’s just fantastic with the ball at his feet, and so he’d add a significant threat down the flanks. Of course, it didn’t quite work out for him last time in the Premier League, but that could serve to make him more desperate to succeed, and he’d surely have a better time under Jurgen Klopp than he did at Chelsea previously.

He’s enjoying a decent run in the World Cup, and he picked up a goal for his country on Sunday. There isn’t going to be a better time, then, to add him to the squad at Anfield – as a solid run in the tournament could propel him to new heights next season.
