The Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern are unsure over the future of Ander Herrera.
With Barcelona on the lookout for players of Ander Herrera’s profile, these Manchester United fans here in the Transfer Tavern are worried that he could be off in January.
According to reports in Spain, Barcelona manager Ernesto Valverde sees Ander Herrera as an ideal target.
Don Balon are reporting that Herrera fits the bill as a long-term replacement for Andres Iniesta, who was recently rewarded with a lifetime contract at the Nou Camp but is coming towards the end of his career.
Now aged 33, Iniesta will be playing less of a prominent role in Barca’s starting line-up and they want Herrera to step in.
Herrera joined Manchester United in 2014 from Athletic Bilbao, having previously played for Real Zaragoza.
The 28-year-old has had a less influential role this term due to the arrival and good performances of former Chelsea man Nemanja Matic.
As a result, the twice-capped Spain international might be tempted by a move back to Spain and the prospect of playing for Barcelona.
With his contract due to expire in the summer, Ander Herrera is being eyed by Barcelona and Man United might sell to avoid losing him for nothing.
