Barcelona slap £20m price-tag over Liverpool’s prime target

Marc-Andre Ter SteganLiverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern are crying into their pints amid speculation that their beloved side may have been priced-out of a move for a Barcelona star.

The Daily Mirror state Barcelona want at least £20m for goalkeeper Marc-Andre Ter Stegen, whilst Liverpool are only prepared to pay around £12m for the German.

Ter Stegen is unhappy in Catalonia after failing to become first-choice stopper, with Claudio Bravo getting the nod ahead of him, which has led to suggestions that the 23-year-old goalkeeper could leave the treble-winning side.

Jurgen Klopp has made his compatriot a prime target but Barcelona are unwilling to budge on their asking price of £20m, as they’re keen not to lose the player who helped them achieve Champions League success last season.

That hands a major blow to Liverpool, who are desperate for the right additions to bolster their chances of returning to Champions League football next season.

The Reds need major improvements, with the latest 2-0 defeat to West Ham leaving them five points behind the top-four and Tottenham could extend their advantage to eight points with victory over Everton this afternoon.

Liverpool fans, can you land Ter Stegan this month? Let us know in the comments below!
