Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern are crying out in pain, after it was revealed they could miss out on a top midfield target.
The 26-year-old, valued at around £34m, has excelled with the Europa League champions this season and made 42 appearances across all competitions, whilst his value could soar this summer with Poland’s involvement in the European Championships.
Krychowiak has consistently been linked with a move to the Premier League in recent seasons but Barcelona’s interest could lead the experienced midfielder to remain in Spanish football, although it’s difficult to see how he would fit into the Catalan’s excellent squad.
With Sergio Busquets, Andres Iniesta and Ivan Rakitic the regular three-man trio deployed into the midfield, Krychowiak may be seen as an understudy- which gives United hope of winning the race for his signature by offering more regular first-team football.
However, our landlord believes Krychowiak would snub United instantly as he feels the two-time Europa League winner will want to test himself in the Champions League.
