Batshuayi set for Stamford Bridge stay

This confirmation has come as a relief to the Chelsea fans in the Football Transfer Tavern…

Since his arrival at Chelsea, Michy Batshuayi has struggled to force his way into the Chelsea first team.

Diego Costa has been in fantastic form, much to the joy of the Chelsea faithful in the Tavern, but this has, in turn, led to Batshuayi struggling to break past the Spaniard.

As a result, as expected, the Belgian forward has been touted with a move away from Stamford Bridge in the Tavern – and numerous reports have suggested AC Milan could be keen on him.

These suggestions were rebuffed last week, but the Chelsea fans in the Tavern were still sweating on his future – with the Belgian seemingly quiet on whether he might leave the club.

However now, for the first time, the Blues seemingly have confirmation that he will stay. An insider, speaking to the Sun, has revealed that Batshuayi is happy at Chelsea.

They said: “All the interest in Michy is true, but he doesn’t care about that at all”.

They elaborated: “Yes he wants more, but he is a competitor and he will fight for his place”.

The Chelsea fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are delighted with this.

Batshuayi has looked good when given an opportunity as of late – but his lack of game time had always left them with cause for concern. Reports are one thing, but this appears to be confirmation that Batshuayi will remain a Blue.

Our landlord is touting the Belgian for big things, but he will definitely have to wait for his chance.

His chance could come this weekend against Leicester, with Diego Costa one yellow card away from a suspension and the Blues facing Man Utd in their next game. A good game from the Belgian could see his Chelsea career kickstart.

Batshuayi has scored 3 goals for the Blues so far this season.
