However, a lack of world class signings and an opening defeat to Swansea has left them a little on edge.
And their disappointment is unlikely to get any better today with the Daily Star revealing that Thomas Muller rejected the chance to join the Dutch revolution.
The 24-year was linked with a move to Manchester earlier in the summer after reports suggested that he was frustrated with life under Pep Guardiola.
But the midfielder, who was part of this summer’s German World Cup winning squad, has revealed he turned down their big money offer.
He said: “Of course they were close. I was aware that I could earn more by making that transfer.
“The amount that foreign clubs were offering me was astronomical. But Bayern are my club, a change was not an issue for me.”
Muller penned a new five-year deal in June to stay at the Allianz Arena.
After signing the new deal, he said: “We held very good talks with the management of the club, which made it clear to me that I’m in the right place here.
“I have the feeling I’m an important component in the club’s plans.”
