Bayern Munich are said to be concerned that manager Pep Guardiola will join the Citizens at the end of the season, when his contract in Bavaria expires, and have contacted Carlo Ancelotti in case they lose the Catalan boss.
Guardiola has delayed penning a new deal that would extend his three-year stint with the Bundesliga champions and the club’s hierarchy has now set the Spaniard a New Year deadline to decide upon his future.
Bayern, along with the other German sides, are set for a six-week break that begins a week before Christmas and want their managerial situation sorted before the second-half of the league campaign kicks-off.
Guardiola has a close relationship with City executives Ferran Soriano and Txiki Begiristain from their time at Barcelona, which could aid their quest to lure the experienced boss to the Premier League.
