Bayern Munich drop out of race to sign Arsenal star but predict that he is leaving

The Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern are getting more and more anxious about the future of their star duo as we approach the new year.

With Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil both in the final year of their respective Arsenal contracts, the Gunners might be forced to sell them in January to avoid losing them for free in the summer.

With contract talks at a standstill with both players, things are looking ominous for those of an Arsenal persuasion.

Sanchez, in particular, has been attracting widespread interest from the likes of Man City, PSG and Bayern Munich.

But according to recent reports in the German media, Bayern Munich will not pursue a deal for the Chile international.

Bayern Munich president Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has told Sky Germany (reported via The Daily Star) that his club will not be pursuing a deal for Alexis Sanchez because he has already decided his next club.

He said: “I think Sanchez has already decided which club [to join], so I suppose that the door will be closed in January.”

Rummenigge later added that he was not concerned by missing out on the 29-year-old because the Bundesliga giants have Robert Lewandowski in their attacking department.
