Manchester United, Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea fans are fearing in the Football Transfer Tavern that they are going to miss out on their target as Bayern Munich are ready to step up their pursuit for the player.
The Daily Star revealed that the German champions will discuss a move for Marco Reus in the coming weeks as they look to land Borussia Dortmund’s flamboyant forward in January.
This is according to the Bayern’s CEO, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, who said last week the club were monitoring the 25-year-old’s situation at Dortmund and says they are willing to meet his release clause of £19.8m.
He said: “To be honest, we’ll discuss the matter internally and calmly.
“Then we will come to a decision.
“At the end of the day, the player has to decide too. His release clause is well known. There’s nothing more to say.”
This has put the Premier League side’s on red alert as they were all chasing the German international in the summer but a move away from Dortmund never materialised.
Many punters believe that there is a good chance he will turn down Bayern, as he witnessed the devastating effect it had on the Dortmund fans after seeing Robert Lewandowski and Mario Gotze ply their trade at the Allianz Arena.
And the Premier League club’s have to hope this plays on his mind when deciding his future, as he will not want to betray the phenomenal fan base, also known as the yellow wall at Dortmund.
