According to France Football, Gael Kakuta looks set to sign a pre-contract agreement with German champions Bayern Munich in January.
Kakuta has made two first appearances since joining the Blues in 2007 at 15 years of age. The forward has apparently expressed his frustration at a lack of opportunity given by Ancelloti to break into the first team.
Whilst Ancelloti has been gifted with selection headaches due to the vast amount of quality in midfield and upfront this season, the same can be said for Louis Van Gaal. The Dutchman is privileged with a squad that boasts Arjen Robben, Franck Ribery, Bastian Schweinsteiger, Mark Van Bommel, Mario Gomez and Miroslav Klose, amongst others, suggesting that it would be no easy feat for Kakuta to break into the Bayern team.
Though Kakuta can be signed up six months before his current contract runs out, It is highly unlikely that Chelsea would allow the 19-year-old leave Stamford Bridge so easily having fought so hard to attain his services in the first place. It was thought that with the exit of Joe Cole, Kakuta would be brought into the first team, but with the arrival of Ramires and the fine form of Malouda and Mikel it’s likely that he might have to wait in the wings for a bit longer.
