There is dramatic news here in the Football Transfer Tavern as it is claimed in Metro that Bayern Munich are set to beat both Barcelona and Chelsea to one of their top targets in the summer.
Of course the German side will be managed by former Barca manager Pep Guardiola in the summer and the Catalan tactician has previously expressed his interest in Neymar. Now Chelsea and Barca will have to not only reach the £86 million that Bayern are set to bid but also manage to convince the Santos player to join them.
It is widely accepted that Neymar will be leaving Brazil after the 2014 World Cup and his destination has always been thought to be either Chelsea or Barcelona. Now with Pep at the Bavarian giants and given Neymar’s open desire to work with the successful manager it has thrown somewhat of a spanner in the works for Roman Abramovich.
Whilst money is not an object for Abramovich, the introduction of the Financial Fair Play regulations could have direct consequences for the likes of Chelsea and Manchester City, perhaps casting doubt on any English move coming to fruition.
Will Neymar end up at Bayern Munich? Rate this rumour below.
