Liverpool’s academy has served them incredibly well over the years, and last season was no different. The emergence of Trent Alexander-Arnold caught everyone by surprise, and it’s fair to say that the Englishman was one of Liverpool’s best performers last season. Naturally, then, the Reds should be thinking about players that could be able to have a similar effect, and young Ben Woodburn certainly has that potential.
Liverpool are obviously looking to gain the Premier League crown, and Woodburn has the talent to help them get it next season.
Woodburn hasn’t had much luck at Liverpool, but in terms of raw talent, they don’t come much better.
The talented Welshman offers tremendous quality on the ball, technical skill, decent pace and energy, and when combined they make him a deadly threat down the flanks. He’s already a Welsh international, and that goes some way to suggesting just how impressive he has been for both club and country.
It’s important not to forget, too, that he’s just 18-years-old. Nobody’s expecting him to be a weekly starter, of course not, but his talent and potential is huge, and Liverpool must harness it.

Best utilised as an attacking midfielder, his goal threat is evident, whilst his fantastic range of passing makes him a threat even when he’s away from the net.
Liverpool’s current crop of attacking midfielders are, of course, up there with Europe’s best. However, a lack of depth is a problem, and that’s an issue that Woodburn could fix. He can chip in where necessary at the start of the season, and if he works to the best of his ability, he could be giving Jurgen Klopp selection nightmares within a matter of weeks.
His ability will no doubt breed further competition at Anfield, and that is what they need to go to the next level and finally win the big one once again.
