Benfica interested in Marco Silva

Benfica interested in Marco Silva

Everton have started well this season, having taken a total of 15 points from a possible 30 and currently sit in mid-table.

It has not been all plain sailing for the Toffees though, as they have seen their side suffer a couple of disappointing results as well.

Overall, however, their performances have been a lot better under Marco Silva since he took over from Sam Allardyce in the summer, but that appears to have attracted some unwanted attention.

According to a report by Correio da Manha, the Portuguese manager is attracting interest from Benfica.

The Primeira Liga outfit have had a disappointing campaign this season and are looking into possible alternatives, with current boss Rui Vitoria expected to be axed.

It should be noted that Silva is just one of a number of names being touted with the job, with the likes of Jorge Jesus, Leonardo Jardim and Abel Ferreira all believed to be favoured as well.

The Verdict:

Silva has only overseen 12 games as Everton boss and will likely want to continue the project he has started at Goodison Park, especially considering the club spent so long trying to bring him in.

The Toffees are certainly playing some of their best football for a long time since being guided by Silva and will be excited with what he is bringing to them.

However, the chance to manage one of the biggest clubs from his homeland could be too big of a move to turn down for the 41-year-old, although it does seem unlikely at this stage to happen.
