Newcastle United fans in the Transfer Tavern will be celebrating after they will finally get what they want this summer.
The Daily Mirror are claiming the Magpies hierarchy are prepared to back Rafa Benitez as they try to continue to fend off interest for him. The Spaniard has attracted the likes of West Ham United to replace David Moyes, although he has stated he would like to remain at St. James’ Park.
However, he admitted he would only be prepared to stay with the Toon Army should he have the required transfer funds in order to strengthen his team and build upon this season’s top-half finish.
The newspaper is claiming that he will be given the necessary funds in order to keep him and the locals will hope they will have a long and successful time with him at the helm of the club.
The Newcastle fans in the Tavern will be delighted if the reports are true as it will make the possibility of Benitez staying on Tyneside that more likely to happen.
The manager has already become a cult hero at the club and the punters are desperate to see him stay and continue his hard work with the squad.
Following the season they had last year, many would have been worried that another side would try and come in for the Spaniard with it taking so long for him to receive the assurances he wanted, but they will be delighted that there is finally some movement.
